Though the Resolutionary iPad as mentioned by Apple Inc. has not yet hit the apple stores around the world, the preview has massively hit the web. The most talked about feature is the Retina display that makes everything look crisper and much lifelike. According to Apple the text is razor sharp, the colors are more vibrant, multimedia are poured with much detail. They say its brilliant in every sense of the world. Using the latest version of iPad gives you the feeling of actually touching the photo, reading books and playing piano. The display, the camera and the wireless connection are thus more crystally enhanced and that claims to make the third-generation iPad capable of so much more that someone has ever imagined.

The large beautiful display better, the Retina Display features an impressive 2048X1536 resolutions, 44 percent color saturation with an amazing 3.1 million pixels in the same 9.7 inch screen. You get the best experience so bar in ways you never could before. Every pixels in the display has multiple signals telling it when to light up in response to your input. Having lot of pixels and lot of signals in the same display can sometime lead to degradation of image quality and to make sure this doesn’t happen the Apple engineers have upgraded the pixels into different frame – separating them from the signals. This in itself is a new engineering art that iPad3 brings to you.

The all new iPad 3 brings to you a 5 megapixel iSight camera with advanced optics a backside illumination sensor, auto white balance and face detection for incredible still images, furthermore you can record a 1080 HD video as well making every moment you capture as lively as you remember.

The new iPad features four times the pixels of iPad 2 and quad-core graphics which has almost no effect to your battery life thus maintains the optimum battery life with 10 hours of power backup to read, watch, write and play and perform any task as you want

It supports fast cellular networks – including 4G LTE networks in the US and Canada. Lets you browse the net, stream videos, download movies at blistering fast speeds. It also works on GSM/UMTS worldwide network technologies including HSPA, HSPA+, and DC-HSDPA — the fastest 3G networks.

For the first time, you can share the high-speed data connection on your iPad. If your carrier supports it, iPad can act as a personal hotspot for connecting up to five devices — such as a MacBook Air, an iPod touch, or another iPad — over Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, or USB.

“In nations and communities around the world, citizens are turning to online tools to keep their governments honest,” he told business leaders on the sidelines of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) forum in Honolulu.

“Whistleblowing has never been so easy,” he said.

Schmidt cited demonstrations that toppled the leaders of Tunisia and Egypt in which activists used Facebook to schedule protests, Twitter to coordinate them and YouTube to broadcast the events to the world.

“Online citizens can find like-minded allies, they can find like-minded diasporas from a country,” he said.

With 52 percent of the global population under the age of 30, the youth can have a bigger say on issues because they are the most prolific users of the Internet.

“They are the ones who are online, that’s how you reach them, that’s how they talk to each other. They share applications and proxy and circumvention tools and help magnify each others’ causes,” he said.

But while governments should not ignore online protests, Schmidt also warned that they could be exaggerated.

“It’s easy in the online world to create the impression of a revolution in the form of noise. It’s important to understand what is a legitimate protest and whether it’s just people trying to create some noise… some excitement.”

Greater adoption of the Internet will lead to the creation of two global systems — the physical sphere where the government has power over its people and a virtual world where people can have more influence, he said.

And there’s little place to hide for those who do bad.

Atrocities against citizens can be documented more easily and “we can start trials against evil-doers before (their acts are) even stopped,” he said.

“There are no caves online.”

With only an estimated two billion of the global population of seven billion online, there is still room for expansion, Schmidt said.

From the option of allowing you to use it in two views that is the ‘PC friendly classic Desktop View’ and the tablet and touchscreen-friendly ‘Metro View’, Windows 8 comes endowed with smart features to offer the ultimate user-experience.

Undeniably, the web world is filled with talks about Windows 8 features but the expected date of release is sometimes in early 2012.

Windows 8 is the next sensible step towards cloud computing while giving users options on how they want to do that. Windows 8 is taking a more responsible approach than compared with Google Chrome, for example.

We have all heard about cloud computing for some time. There has been little to show us it has been coming for some time. Except until very recently. Google has just released the Chromebook, which runs on Google Chrome, which more than an operating system, it is a browser. Windows 8 works a little differently, and may be a more appropriate use for many of us. Most of us are probably not ready for a full switch to cloud computing without additional options, such as keeping our own items on our own computer. Windows 8 is a move towards cloud computing without compromising what we know. Here is a look at how it will work in terms of cloud computing.

Azure. The Windows Azure Platform is the computing platform used by Microsoft to offer cloud computing products. These products are and will be offered separately to the Windows 8 download. You can think of the Azure Platform as the huge computer that handles a software program for you, and when you are using it, you are using it through the network. A perfect example of this is Office 365, the replacement for Microsoft Office. You will not have the program on your computer, you will use it like the program on your computer, but it is stored on the Azure network.

System Integration.Windows 8 will allow you to use application on the internet, cloud computing applications, with the full power of your operating system and computer. Currently, when you are using an application on the internet, Facebook is an excellent example of one of them, you are only able to use the power of your browser and the power that can be given to that application by your operating system. The whole power of your computer will be available for online applications, and therefore, there will be considerable speed changes.

Cluster Support. It is important to understand that when you get services from cloud based products provided by Microsoft, it is not like you will be getting them from one single source. There are many technologies around the delivery of information and services, which deliver from multiple sources at a single time. This means if one of those sources crashes, you will not lose your data, and the service will not be terminated.

Windows Live.Windows Live services are expected to grow dramatically, offer a variety of products, and increase to include large storage with monthly payment plans. Similar products are already available for business at very low cost when compared with competitors for a long time.

Device storage.Even though there will be a large amount of cloud services available after the release of Windows 8, the best thing about the change is that we will still retain our on-device storage. Not everyone is ready to store everything online – as is the case with owning a Chromebook. A staged transfer of the way we use computers is what most people will want. We still want the choice. While Windows 8 will function very well with cloud computing, is a system that integrates the language of cloud, it still gives us the option of storing on our own devices.

Windows 8 will be an exciting and hassle free step forward in the right direction for computer users who have put up with having to learn how to use different devices because they all operated differently, and who live in a world where they fear getting online because of security issues.

Microsoft have announced the Launch of their replacement for BPOS. It is definitely an upgrade. This is a lot more than a rebrand, Microsoft are significantly upgrading BPOS and the long anticipated release ofOffice 365 can be seen as more of a re-release than an upgrade. Microsoft Office 365 looks to be the platform on which Microsoft Online Services are going to be built upon and the moment we’ve been waiting for ever since Steve Balmer announced ‘We’re All In’, which has since become a Microsoft slogan.

‘Microsoft Office 365: The Power to Think Big and Be Small, to Be Big and Act Fast’ is the title of Microsoft’s announcement of Office 365. They refer to Office 365 as ‘a new service that brings familiar applications, including Office desktop software and Office Web Apps, together with SharePoint, Exchange and Lync in the cloud, for the first time.’ The essential change to the BPOS package is the inclusion of Microsoft’s new communication package. The Lync offering replaces Office Communications Online and Live Meeting in a new combined communication package and is a significant improvement on its predecessors, whilst SharePoint and Exchange will move to the 2010 offerings.

Does a 92-inch TV sound like overkill to you?

To many, it may. But for the company that makes it, Mitsubishi, it’s pretty much the only way to distinguish itself among its competitors and try to stay in the TV business.

Next month, Mitsubishi will officially start selling the behemoth of a television it first introduced at CES in January. The 92-inch 840 3D DLP Home Cinema TV will cost $5,999, has a resolution of 1080p, uses DLP rear-projection technology, and can display 3D content. It also comes in 72 inches and 83 inches.

Yes, there will be people that will buy it. The kind of people who, say, have a “media room” in their home. In other words, no, it’s not for everyone. So why would Mitsubishi go after such a small portion of TV buyers?

“It’s good to sell volume, but it’s better to make money,” said Frank DeMartin, vice president of consumer product sales for Mitsubishi.

The big-time players in the TV market, Samsung, Sharp, and Sony sell millions of flat-panel TVs every quarter, and Mitsubishi, a small player with about 1 percent of the television market in North America, can’t compete on the number of TVs those guys make. So starting last year, Mitsubishi moved to where none of its competition is in order to stay afloat in the very tough world of making TVs. That means going really, really big and selling technologies you don’t see much from any other player in the industry.

The Japanese TV maker says it’s tried and it can’t make decent profit margins–and claims the competition can’t either–on your “normal size TVs.” That is, TVs that measure 30, 40, 50, and 60 inches. Prices have dropped significantly in those sizes, which means the makers get squeezed on profits. It’s why Mitsubishi nixed its 60- and 65-inch model TVs last year. Now it doesn’t make anything smaller than 72 inches.

A risky move for sure: TVs larger than 65 inches are really just not that popular. They make up about 2 percent of the total number of TVs sold in North America, according to TV market researchers at DisplaySearch. Liquid-crystal display (LCD) TVs, the most popular TV technology, are not even available in sizes larger than 70 inches. You can get a 85-inch plasma from Panasonic, but that’s a whole different category of buyer: one that will spend $22,000 on a TV. There’s also a Panasonic 103-inch plasma for more than $30,000.

Larger size TV are more expensive and usually mean a smaller number of sets sold, but they do “tend to be a little more profitable” than the approximate 10 percent profit margins that the makers of standard-size LCD TVs get, said Paul Gagnon, DisplaySearch’s vice president of TV research for North America.

That low-margin issue is also why Mitsubishi abandoned its LCD TV business last year.

“We were selling lots of flat panels too, but not making any money,” DeMartin said.

Which brings us back to the 92-incher. Besides size, there’s another reason it’s different than the dozens of TVs you’d see lining the aisles of Best Buy: it uses rear-projection technology. Mitsubishi is now the only company that still carries the banner for the TV technology that has been largely forgotten by mainstream TV buyers since the onset of the LCD and plasma era.

Why would anyone still buy a rear-projection TV, you ask? At about 15-inches deep they’re not nearly as thin as an LCD or plasma and there’s nothing really cutting-edge about the idea of rear-projection, Gagnon said. The remaining appeal of rear-projection for most is price. And if you do happen to be outfitting your media room, rear-projection is actually thinner than front-projection TVs, which are–besides Panasonic’s five-figure sets–the only other option for when it comes to buying a TV as big as 92 inches.
